This month, The Fifth Avenue Hotel opened its doors raising the bar for hospitality in beautiful New York. The restyling was entrusted to the hotel architect Perkins Eastman. And Martin Brudnizki Design Studio for the interior design, together with Flâneur Hospitality.
The hotel is located on the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and 28th Street. The building was an icon of Fifth Avenue. Once occupied by Charlotte Goodridge, with elegant events hosted and visitors greeted with horses and carriages. After her passing the building was transformed into an art gallery and then the Second National Bank by McKim, Mead, and White. Over a century later, the building has been restored and transformed into a luxury hotel, with 153 rooms and suites. Shawn Basler, AIA, co-CEO and executive director of Perkins Eastman said. “It was a special job to create a unique and personalized place that expresses the history, charm, and personal characteristics of the building.”
The Fifth is a cutting-edge hospitality destination, featuring world-class amenities and services, including a selection of restaurants and bars led by James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini. Café Carmellini is the main restaurant in the restored double-height banking hall, while the Portrait Bar and Mansion Ballroom are available to guests.
